Wolfgang is a postdoctoral researcher in the Computer Vision & Machine Learning Group at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics. His research focuses on creating AI models that allow users to understand and interact with their internal representations. A key aspect of his work involves developing concept-level explanations that enable transparent communication between AI systems and human stakeholders, with particular emphasis on large-scale vision–language models.
Wolfgang completed his PhD with Prof. Kristian Kersting at the AI & ML Lab, Computer Science Department, TU Darmstadt, where his work focused on neuro-symbolic approaches to explainable AI. Previously, he was a PostDoc at the AI & ML Lab, TU Darmstadt, in cooperation with Aleph Alpha within Lab1141, working on robustness and reliability of vision–language models. |
