From 30 August to 3 September 2027, the Saarland Informatics Campus will host the International Summer School on Neuroexplicit Models. We invite PhD and Master’s students from around the world to spend five days exploring research that brings together neural and human-interpretable models. Rising-star international faculty, together with the RTG’s doctoral researchers and principal investigators, will share their current work and exchange ideas with participants. Above all, the school is an opportunity for the next generation of researchers in neuroexplicit models to meet, learn from one another, and build lasting connections.

We are in the process of putting together a great line-up of speakers, with multiple already confirmed! Sign up for our newsletter to stay tuned.

Venue

The summer school will take place at the Saarland Informatics Campus, located at Saarland University in SaarbrĂĽcken, Germany. The campus is a vibrant hub for computer science research nestled in a beautiful forested area.

By Plane
Most attendees will fly into Frankfurt Airport (FRA). From Frankfurt, you can take a train to SaarbrĂĽcken Hauptbahnhof (approx. 2.5 hours). Luxembourg Airport (LUX) is a viable alternative that is reachable via an express bus (approx. 1.5 hours). SaarbrĂĽcken Airport (SCN) is just a short taxi or bus ride away and offers a limited number of international connections.

By Train
SaarbrĂĽcken Hauptbahnhof (Hbf) is well connected to the European high-speed rail network (ICE/TGV) with direct connections to Paris, Frankfurt, and Mannheim. From the main station, you can easily catch a bus to the university campus.

By Bus / Car
From Saarbrücken Hbf, take bus lines 112, 124, or 102 directly to the campus (stop: "Universität Mensa" or "Universität Campus"). If you are driving, visitor parking is available across the campus in designated zones.
